Lupita Vital is from Jalisco, Mexico. She has worked in the field of catechesis for the last 25 years, serving in the Dioceses of Tabasco, Guadalajara and San Jose, California.
Lupita has diplomas from the Diocesan Catechetical School and the Catholic Biblical Institute of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. She also obtained a diploma in Theology from the University of Notre Dame, and from the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley, CA. She has a certificate of specialization in pastoral studies from the University of Loyola in New Orleans. In 2005, she obtained her Master's Degree in Catechesis from the University of Santa Clara, in Santa Clara, CA. And in 2007, the Holy See distinguished her with the Cross Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice.
She is currently the Director of the Hispanic Apostolate for the Diocese of San Jose California. In 2014, she was awarded the "Allan Figueroa Deck, SJ" award for her outstanding contributions to Hispanic Theology and Formation in Ministerial Leadership by the Hispanic Institute of the Jesuit School of Theology at the University of Santa Clara.
She has written and published reflections for Ligouri entitled “A New Beginning for Advent and Christmas” and for Lent and Easter. She wrote A Year Full of Grace(Loyola Press, 2016) and currently writes Sunday reflections for LPI Cycles of Faith series.
