Susana Réfega serves currently as the Executive Director of the Laudato Si’ Movement. Susana has dedicated most of her profissional life to international development and solidarity serving in different roles and organisations such as FEC - Faith and Cooperation Foundation in Portugal, CAFOD in UK and the Catholic European network CIDSE. She is a Visiting Professor at Lisbon University and Portuguese Catholic University in International Development Studies. She holds a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from René Descartes University, Paris and Master's Degree in Development, International Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid from Sorbonne University.
As part of her path in ecological converstion she is member of the Association for Ecology and Spirituality Casa Velha. She is also member of the Christian Life Community (CLC) is an international association of lay Christians who have adopted an Ignatian model of spiritual life.
She lives in a Colares – a small village near the coast in Portugal with her husband, her three children, a dog and two cats.
